The DoD spends $145M+/yr on Pilot UTIS alone.
DOD pilots (both male and female) are up to 20x more likely to develop UTIs than civilians. When pilots get UTIs they are not permitted to fly for 7 days, resulting in 4,981+ lost pilot duty days/year. Meaning the DOD needs skin apparel for pilots to support mission readiness.

We Then Ran Our Own Study
In a physician-supervised wear study (274 enrolled, 180 completed baseline) led by OB/GYN and urogynecologist Dr. Sarah St. Louis (ABOG-certified), we studied 110 active-duty service members:
- 84.4% reported a urogenital health issue that began or worsened in high-activity environments
- Only 6.1% say their required clothing keeps them dry and comfortable
- 80.6% say these issues hurt their daily life, performance, or wellbeing
- 30.0% reported reduced performance
- 32.8% sought medical attention โ a direct TRICARE cost
- 91.1% report damp, wet, or soaked conditions during activity
