Oya leggings have ventilation panels, moisture absorption properties, and antimicrobial properties, among other attributes. All of our products are made with our consumers in mind and perfected by customer feedback.

Studies show that tight, clothing made of spandex blends create wet, anaerobic environments that grow bad bacteria. This bad bacteria throws off your microbiome and leads to issues like yeast infections, rashes, etc.

We're fighting these issues by engineering leggings and tops that keep you dry and well ventilated and that kill bacteria.

1. Hand wash or wash on delicate cycle in cold water with little soap.
2. Turn inside out and wash alone or with other synthetic fabrics.
3. Wash separate from cotton items as fluff attaches to legging fabric.
4. Avoid fabric softener to protect wicking capabilities.
5. Hang dry or tumble dry if you have little time on the delicate cycle.

You don't need to! Our leggings have been designed so that you do not need to wear underwear or panty liners.

We recommend wearing your Oya apparel during athletic activities such as yoga, cycling, pilates, running, and lifting, or even just lounging around in your day-to-day life.

When you look at the insert, you may not think that this is very complicated but designing this insert is hard. We at Oya, unlike competitors are dealing with ergo dynamics, ventilation, absorbency, and natural materials, and stretch fabrics all at once.

Now if you're not a designer that might sound like jargon so let's break it down. First, ergo dynamics. This insert is designed in a way to be able to bend to follow the curve of your legs, so it doesn't feel unnatural when you're walking or working out. BUT it needs to have enough structure this way so that way it doesn't fold up in the pocket while you're working out. With that, the sides of the insert need to be finished cleanly and cut with a laser, so it does not rub against you or the legging.

Fourth, the insert needs to be thin enough to not inhibit crotch ventilation and thick enough to absorb at least one pantyliner worth of moisture. Lastly, it needs to be made from BPA, PFA, and PFOA free fabrics which makes it really hard to create and produce this bad boy or girl if you will.

Oya leggings do not come with inserts. Instead, they come with insert pockets which you can see on our waste sculpting 7 eighth legging in red ochre. Even without the insert, the legging is miles ahead of the competition in terms of breathability and bacteria reduction. However, the insert adds to a moisture absorption capability.

When you purchase a legging, you have the option to add two inserts to your legging for $7. You could also buy a four pack of inserts at any time for $10.

Whether that's because you sometimes leak a little bit when you sneeze, or you're worried that your period might start that day, you sweat a lot in your crotch and you're looking for a help there, etc. We are female designers. It's pretty simple. You put the insert into the insert pocket when you want to leave your house with discreet protection and discreet moisture absorption capabilities. If you at any point feel moist and you want to change, you go to the bathroom and squat while you're wearing the leggings and take the insert out. Then you put that moist insert into this reusable bag that your inserts came in. This bag is
important because it's lined, meaning that if you put a wet insert in it the moisture isn't going to go all over the place.

We hear varying answers depending on how much someone needs the insert’s absorption capabilities. But we mostly hear that it’s like a pantyliner. So, if you’re new to Oya and you never wear a pantyliner, at first you can feel hyper aware of it, but your awareness of it will fade over time.
